Mary joined the Office of the Auditor General in September 2015. Prior to this, she worked for more than 35 years for large international accounting firms as a senior and executive manager in Alberta’s public service and as a management consultant. In the latter role, Mary consulted widely with Alberta government ministries and agencies, as well as with the health, post-secondary and not-for-profit sectors.
Mary has extensive experience in strategy development and implementation planning; governance, organizational design and development; assessment of organizational capacity for change and design of change management services; and governance and management of information and related technology. She has designed and implemented systemic transformation initiatives at the organizational, provincial and national levels.
Mary received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction from the University of Calgary in 1976. She became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 1979. Mary was admitted as a Certified Management Consultant in 2009.
