We are the independent auditor of every Government of Alberta ministry, department, regulated fund and agency. We audit their financial statements and the systems they use to meet their duties.
Our clients are the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and, through them, the people of Alberta. We provide our clients with information they can use to effectively oversee and scrutinize public spending. Our audits:
- provide assurance that management's information is reliable and complete.
- identify opportunities for improving control over, and the use of, public resources.
- make recommendations to improve systems and practices. By identifying weaknesses in management's controls and systems, we can help prevent problems from developing.
